Oikeusministerin tehtävää Taxell hoiti vuodet 1979-1987 Mauno Koiviston ja Kalevi Sorsan hallituksissa, minkä jälkeen hän oli vielä Holkerin hallituksen opetusministerinä vuodet 1987-1990. Taxellin ministerikausi kesti yhtäjaksoisesti 4 037 päivää eli 11 vuotta. Luovuttuaan politiikasta Taxell oli vuosina 1990-2002 Partekin toimitusjohtaja. Haastattelijana Juha Kulmanen. Ensilähetys 2.1.2015.
